Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent! This is, in my opinion, the best gingerbread recipe. The gingerbread cookies are tasty, crunchy and a dough that is easy to bake with. And good to eat as it is too :) I also make pralines from the dough itself and I use the gingerbread dough in various baked goods as well. So good!! Feel free to try.
Kryddiga Pepparkakor
65 g smör
0,5 dl mörk sirap
1 dl strösocker eller ljust farinsocker
0,5 dl vispgrädde
0,5 msk malen kanel
3/4 tsk malen ingefära
0,5 tsk malen kryddnejlika
0,5 tsk malen kardemumma
0,5 tsk vaniljsocker
1/4 tsk salt
1 tsk bikarbonat
3 1/4 dl vetemjöl
Smält ihop smör, sirap, strösocker, vispgrädde och kryddor i en kastrull. Låt koka upp tills sockerkristallerna har smält och ta sedan bort från värmen.
I en skål blanda ihop hälften av vetemjölet och bikarbonat. Tillsätt det i smör-kryddblandningen. Rör om till en jämn smet och ha sedan i resten av mjölet. Arbeta ihop till en lös deg. Lägg på locket och låt stå i kylskåp till följande dag. Ta ut degen i rumstemperatur i minst 1 h innan utbakning. Grädda pepparkakor i 200 C grader i ca 5-8 minuter.
Spicy Gingerbread Cookies
65 g butter
1 dl caster sugar or light brown sugar
0.5 d dark syrup
0.5 dl heavy cream
0.5 tbsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground ginger
0.5 tsp ground cloves
0.5 tsp ground cardamom
0.5 tsp vanilla sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp bicarbonate
3 1/4 dl wheat flour
Melt butter, sugar, syrup, whipping cream and spices in a saucepan. Bring to a boil until the sugar crystals have melted and then remove from the heat.
In a bowl, mix together half of the wheat flour and bicarbonate. Add it to the butter-spice mixture. Stir to a smooth batter and then add the rest of the flour. Stir together into a loose dough. Put the lid on and leave in the fridge until the following day. Remove the dough from the fridge for at least 1 hour before baking. Bake the gingerbread cookies at 200 C degrees for about 5-8 minutes.
