Have you heard about Golden Milk? The main ingredient in this golden drink is turmeric, something that has long been used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine and cooking for its many health benefits. Turmeric is related to ginger and is said to inhibit inflammation in the body and is good for the skin and mucous membranes. In addition to the anti-inflammatory effect, turmeric is also a strong antioxidant. When making the drink add a pinch of black pepper, which increases absorption of turmeric. It is recommended to eat about a tablespoon a day of turmeric to get the anti-inflammatory effect. The drink has also a relaxing effect and can therefore be good to drink in the evening before bedtime to get a more restful sleep.
Golden Milk
2 dl almond milk
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
1/8 tsp ginger powder
1/8 tsp ginger powder
pinch of black pepper
sweetener of choice (fiber syrup, maple syrup, date syrup)
Put the ingredients into a small saucepan and heat until hot but not boiling. Serve immediately.
Gyllenemjölk
2 dl mandelmjölk
1/4 tsk mald gurkmeja
1/4 tsk mald kanel
1/4 tsk mald kardemumma
1/8 tsk mald ingefära
1/8 tsk mald ingefära
nypa svartpeppar
sötningsmedel valbart (fibersirap, lönnsirap, dadelsirap)
Lägg ingredienserna i en liten kastrull och värm tills varmt men inte kokande. Servera genast.
