If you read my blog lately, you have probably noticed that I have made a lot of soups. But soup is good and is suitable for the colder seasons. I have always liked pea soup and it's very easy to make yourself. The tradition says to eat pea soup and pancakes on Thursday :). In the schools that I went to as a child we had pea soup and pancakes on Thursdays. Delicious :)
Ärtsoppa
4 portioner
500 g torkade ärter
2,5 l vatten
2 tsk salt
1 rödlök, finhackad
3 morötter, tärnade
2 msk senap
2 tsk mejram
svartpeppar
Skölj ärtorna med kallt vatten. Blötlägg ärtorna över natten i en stor kastrull (ca 5 l) med halva mängden vatten i receptet. Följande dag, tillsätt resterande vatten och koka upp. Tillsätt salt och finhackad lök och låt sjuda täckt i ca 1 h. Avlägsna skum som formas. Tillsätt morötterna och låt sjuda i ytterligare 30 minuter. Krydda med senap, mejram och svartpeppar.

500 g dried peas
2,5 l water
2 tsp salt
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 carrots, diced
2 tbsp mustard
2 tsp marjoram
black pepper
Rinse the peas with cold water. Soak the peas overnight in a large pan (about 5 l) with half the amount of water in the recipe. The following day, add the remaining water and bring to a boil. Add salt and finely chopped onion and let simmer covered for about 1 hour. Remove the foam that formes. Add the carrot and let simmer for another 30 minutes. Season with mustard, marjoram and black pepper.
