Chickpea flour is naturally gluten-free and protein-rich. The flour has an earthy / smoky flavor and if you taste the batter before you bake the cakes the taste is not good :) Raw chickpea flour is no big shots in other words. But after a turn in the oven, the taste is much better. If you have not previously tried baking with chickpea flour the taste might taste strange, but give it a chance.
Chickpea Cakes served with Berries
100 g chickpea flour (besan)
40 g coconut sugar
125 g water
10 g cocoa powder
30 g coconut oil
3.5 g baking powder
Whisk the chickpea flour, sugar and water together in a bowl. Add the cocoa powder, oil and baking powder and stir the mixture until smooth. Divide the batter into two silicon molds (7cm) and bake in 175 degrees C for 30-35 minutes. Let cool and serve with warmed berries.
Kikärtskakor serverade med bär

100 g kikärtsmjöl (besan)
40 g kokosnötssocker
125 g vatten
10 g kakaopulver
30 g kokosnötolja
3,5 g bakpulver
Vispa kikärtsmjöl, socker och vatten i en skål. Tillsätt kakao, olja och bakpulver och rör blandningen tills slät. Dela smeten i två silikonformar (7cm) och grädda i 175 grader i 30-35 minuter. Låt svalna och servera med värmda bär.
